If life is proving to be a little difficult at the moment and you are a glass half empty type of person, then it can be very difficult seeing the positive sides in anything. The past 2 ½ years has taken its toll on many people’s mental health and more and more people are suffering from depression due to the fact that they weren’t allowed to be close to family members for a long period of time. It was a difficult time for us all and now thankfully there seems to be some light at the end of this very dark tunnel. What we all need to do now is to start doing things that will put the smile back on our faces and will return us to the days when positive thoughts were the norm.

It’s likely that your physician will try to prescribe some kind of medication to you to get you feeling better about yourself again, but it’s always best to avoid medicines when there are so many options available to you. There are many activities that you could take part in to create a more positive outlook for yourself and the following are just some of those.

  • Try something completely new – You could go whale watching in Sydney and that would be sure to ring lots of positivity into your life. It definitely gives you a sense of perspective about your life and where you are right now when you look at one of these majestic creatures moving effortlessly through the water. The sheer size of them will blow your mind and the fact that they are so gentle and easy going helps to fill your heart with cheer.
  • Take up regular exercise – Exercise is a fantastic way to create positive thoughts and your brain releases feel good chemicals that will make you feel better in no time at all. Try to pick an exercise that you actually do enjoy doing and that you will look forward to do early in the morning when you come back from work late in the evening.

Nobody else is going to turn your life around, so it’s up to you to start bringing positive influences into it. Try to surround yourself with optimistic people and try to take part in activities that will lift your spirits and make you feel very happy to be alive.
